Breaststroke Drills –1 Kick, Multiple Arm Strokes

Similar to the 1 Arm Stroke, Multiple Kicks drill, the 1 Kick, Multiple Arm Strokes drill, this is best done in a 100m workout.

  • Swim the first 25 metres using normal breaststroke.
  • For the next 25 metres, complete a full cycle of normal breaststroke and then do another arm stroke. You should be able to complete two arm stroke and a leg kick. You may perform a dolphin kick whenever you complete the extra arm stroke.
  • For the next 25 metres, do three arm strokes and a leg kick.
  • Then, for the next 25 metres, do 4 arm strokes and a leg kick.

The 1 Kick, Multiple Arm Strokes drill trains both arms and legs and strengthens the arms in the long run which can be advantageous in races.
