The Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror 2 Goggle Review.

Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror 2 goggle review

I have seen the Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror 2 goggles around for a fair while now. I happened to have a friend that was happy to lend me a pair. My first was thought was “ooh very futuristic”. The wrap-around lenses make your face look fast, even though you not moving. Then there’s the case, which looks like something that might house the cure to all ailments. It looks like Speedo has put in a lot of work design work to make these goggles look slick. And it’s worked. They come with a soft mesh bag and a hard case to prevent scratches.

Slick

When you look at the goggles you see that the silicone eyecups seem to protrude a fair way from the lenses. However, when you put them on the cups fit on your face quite well. The cups compress nicely against your face and the lenses fit over them really well. I thought that the lenses would stick out a bit from my face, but I was surprised by how sleek and comfortable they were. Normally when I wear goggles my eyelashes touch the lens but with the Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror 2’s , I didn’t even notice

The Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror comes in a range of different lens colors and tints, I was using a gold pair. Even tho I was in an indoor pool, I still had great visibility in and out of the water. The gold tint helps with underwater vision but didn’t darken the pool. I felt like I was wearing a pair of sunglasses under the water.

Speedo IQfit system

The Speedo Aquapulse Max Mirror uses the Speedo IQfit system which basically a leak-free 3D seal around each eye. Plus Speedo makes the goggles frim enough to withstand a dive but still super soft and flexible so they mold and adapt to the face. I must admit, at times I did forget that I was wearing them.

The one thing I didn’t like was the strap adjustment, I found that if you take them on and off a bit then the band seems to slip. If I need to put them on in a hurry, say I was late for practice, then I wouldn’t be confident that they wouldn’t leak.

Overall

They are a quality item to have in your swim bag and are very comfortable over a distance swim. I’m not sure if I would use them for a race meet. Due to me possibly having to re-adjust them, but for training, they would be great.
